The colour purple is sensible (like temptation). If you are not sensible conducting your faith (within a bubble), you will fail to resist temptation; risking your health in pursuit of heaven. Boring is God's way of saying "I resent." Is that the difference? Boredom reminds us God can't be. Boredom is like a flame. It flickers. It never rests. Life without temptation is BORING! Temptation can be sensible.
I starved myself for three days. Only water and coffee. It was BORING! The only reason I wanted to eat was because my mind was bored. By the morning of the fourth day my guts started to hurt in a peculiar way so I halted the experiment. My body let me down. What was the punishment? Temptation. Eating teaches us that food soothes; really well. So the punishment is soothing? There's incentive to repeat the pattern. Temptation is clever. It pulls you out of the fire only to drown you in water.
It saves you from boredom through addiction. Addiction is sensible IF...it will save your life. Temptation saved my life, briefly.
