I find myself asking the same question.
And yes it can , being about 2-3 mm.
Also considering that needles are different sizes and were certainly bigger in those days.

Hi Anton. I'm actually referencing the bible in two places. The mustard seed is to be the equivalent of the faith necessary to move mountains. The needle is in reference to it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than a rich person to go to heaven. The thought around this post was can a person with faith the size of a mustard seed pass through a needle to reach heaven? Does that make sense?
